This was designed in Viviane Kim's Graphic Design I class. The goal of this project was to design the book jacket for our own autobiography. I wanted to make a lighthearted, playful book reminiscing on my childhood memories. To depict this, I individually photographed a collection of my own childhood toys and collaged them together like a puzzle. Since this collage was busy, bright, and vibrant, I knew I wanted to keep the rest of the design clean and minimalistic. As I would be writing this book as an adult, this design combines sophistication with playfulness. The title also being a play on words, "Re(collect)," alludes to both the act of reminiscing, with the physical collection of my childhood toys.
